Microneedling

You strive to take great care of your skin. But do you sometimes wish there was a nonsurgical way to smooth fine lines, wrinkles and scars & to give you a clearer complexion?

What is Vivace RF microneedling?

Offered in this area by the team at Aesthetica, Vivace RF Microneedling promotes skin renewal to create the smoother skin you want. And because it’s laser powered, it causes tightening of the skin in the area treated. Call the office in Montgomery, Alabama, today or schedule an appointment online to find out more about this simple aesthetic skin treatment.

Vivace RF Microneedling is a safe procedure that promotes a smoother, more youthful complexion. When performed under the expert care of a trained medical professional, microneedling can improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars, large pores, fine lines, and stretch marks. And when radio frequency – RF – laser is combined, you get the added benefit of skin tightening and smoothness.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling is performed with a handheld device that’s covered with sharp, sterile needles. Your Aesthetica practitioner glides the device over the surface of your skin, creating tiny punctures. These punctures are called micro-conduits, which are wounds that stimulate your skin to grow new collagen and elastin, activating the healing process in your cells.

Both collagen and elastin are essential for youthful skin. Microneedling also triggers the creation of new capillaries (blood vessels) below the surface of your skin. These new capillaries promote the healing of scar tissue to give scars a smoother appearance.

Unlike some skin rejuvenation therapies, microneedling works on a range of skin tones. Our Vivace RF Microneedling uses insulated needles and doesn’t carry the risks of skin discoloration that may occur with other treatments.

What should I expect after microneedling?

You can expect some mild redness in your skin, but that should go away in a few days. You’ll be able to return to work the day after your treatment. To protect your skin and ensure the best results, you’ll want to avoid sun exposure and make a habit of wearing sunscreen.

What should I expect during a microneedling treatment?

Microneedling is a short, simple procedure performed onsite at Aesthetica. Your practitioner begins by applying topical anesthesia to your skin for 30minutes. This numbs the treatment area, ensuring your comfort during the treatment session. Your provider then rolls the microneedling device on the treatment area about 15-20 times. A session generally takes about 45 minutes depending on how wide the area is. Exact times will vary. Afterward, your provider typically treats your skin with sunscreen and a protective topical that prevents the entry of germs but allows the skin to breath. You will be sent home with more serums to apply over the next few days.

You’ll want to return for another treatment about every 4-6 weeks. Timing treatments in this fashion gives your skin time to build new collagen. The total number of treatments you’ll need will vary, depending on the condition of your skin. For example, you may need 3-5 treatments for moderate acne scars.
